Test Authorization – Free Rewrite

This article outlines the process for test organizers to enable a free rewrite, letting candidates retake the test with their current authorization. Typically, test authorization is granted upon purchase and is a one-time privilege. You can find more information on how to create test authorization in the following article. However, exceptions apply when candidates face issues, allowing the test organizer to offer a free rewrite.

Allowing free rewrite #

Test dashboard #

To allow free rewrite:

  1. Navigate to Tests/Manage tests tab.
  2. Select the desired test and click on its name.
  3. In the Settings/Basic information tab, select the Candidates button.
  4. Locate the specific candidate and click on the three dots next to their name.
  5. From the options presented, choose Remove authorization to revoke their current test authorization.
  6. Select Suspend.

Testing center dashboard #

The same action can also be carried out using the Testing center dashboard, and we will now provide a step-by-step explanation of how to do it.

  1. Navigate to Testing center page, and select the Candidates option.
  2. Go to Test attempts tab.
  3. Select the desired test and testing session.
  4. Locate the specific candidate on the specific test and click on the three dots next to their name.
  5. From the options presented, select Remove Authorization to remove their current test authorization.
  6. Select Suspend.

By following these steps, the used authorization will be released, allowing it to be used again for one additional test attempt.

    Conclusion #

The test authorization feature offers significant benefits by allowing administrators to control test access and allowing candidates to select their preferred testing sessions. While typically a one-time privilege, exceptions can be made for a free rewrite.
